Ngo/Ong

The installation NGO/ONG comes “from the anarchic sense of brotherhood” that the non-governmental agencies (NGOs) ideally have that save migrants in the Mediterranean Sea.

The sculpture depicts a man, a wolf, a goat and a head of cauliflower which are trying to reach land on a dilapidated ship. The theme was inspired by the famous Italian saying “let’s save goats and cabbages” which narrates a role play that must be perfectly respected so that all the “characters” of the saying can be saved. In this case, the artist put all the characters on this ship together to make it clear that without many strategies but relying only on willpower, a human being can save everyone, including himself.

The boat of the NGO installation has an empty seat on the bow, which can be occupied by anyone who wants to be rescued.
