In the Morning

The installation In the Morning has four horse heads of realistic dimension that create a small herd running on the seashore, with the splashes they are creating made by a movement of lines prolonged by their manes.

“I created this installation for a beach house. In the Morning was meant to be an ideal link, a stream of movement that unites the sea and the pool. What medium could be between these two elements? In Italian, strong sea waves are called cavalloni which translates literally to “big horses” in English… the association was immediate.

I recreated the movement of the waves in the installation from my memories of all the times I saw horses running along the beach (I was born in a town by the sea); the force of the gallop, the splashes made by the hooves and the movement of the waves come together in a sparkling plastic dynamism.”
